Description: Offers support for 3 years of doctoral level study at 1 of 6 leading Canadian research universities (McGill University, Université de Montréal, University of Alberta, University of British Columbia, University of Toronto and University of Waterloo) in both basic and applied fields of science, engineering and mathematics.

Fulbright-Fogarty Fellows in Public Health Program

Location: Bangladesh, Botswana, Brazil, China, Kenya, Malawi, Peru, Uganda and Zambia

Levels of Study: master’s students, doctoral students and medical students

Fields of Study: clinical research and public health

Description: Grants medical students and graduate students interested in global health the opportunity to conduct research in public health and clinical research in resource-limited settings. Fellows have the opportunity to work in one of nine countries.

Fulbright Indonesia: Research, Science & Technology (FIRST) Awards

                    Location: Indonesia

                    Levels of Study: master’s students and doctoral students

Fields of Study: agriculture, astronomy/planetary sciences, atmospheric sciences, biology, botany, chemistry, computer science, ecology, energy, engineering, environmental studies, geology, information science, materials science, mathematics, medicine, oceanography, physics, public/global health and urban development & planning.

Description: Provides scholarships to study, teach or conduct research in priority science and technology fields, in order to promote mutual understanding between Indonesia and the United States. Students must be sponsored by an Indonesian host institution.

Fulbright: Open Study and Research Grants (General / All Disciplines)

Location: Asia, Australia, Europe and Latin America

Levels of Study: master’s students and doctoral students

Fields of Study: all fields

Description: Provides opportunities for applicants to design their own projects and work with advisers at foreign universities or other institutes of higher education. These awards are available in approximately 140 countries. Program requirements vary by country and some may also require sponsorship by the host institution.

NAF-Fulbright Fellowship for Childhood Cancer Research

Location: Netherlands

Levels of Study: master’s students and doctoral students

Fields of Study: biomedical sciences, clinical, medicine, pharmaceutical and psychology

Description: Supports grants to benefit childhood cancer research, including biomedical research. Research must be conducted in 1 of 7 pediatric oncology centers in the Netherlands; or the student must have a mentor who is affiliated with one of these seven centers.
