Campus Organizations
Campus organizations are an integral part of the UCSF community. These groups serve to support the diverse educational, social, cultural, recreational, and spiritual interests within the campus community. Many groups are of particular interest to our international students and scholars because of their focus on international and cultural issues. We invite you to inquire about any group that may interest you.

Asian Health Caucus
As one of the oldest student run organizations at UCSF, Asian Health Caucus (AHC) strives to increase the awareness of Asian and Asian-American health issues. In addition, AHC holds a series of events to promote mutual understanding and friendship among all members of the UCSF community.
Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at UCSF
Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at University of California San Francisco (ACSS at UCSF) was founded in 1992. The main purpose of ACSS is to organize the members in UCSF to hold scientific and cultural activities, to promote communication between members, and provide information for members' personal needs.
Black Caucus at UCSF
The Black Caucus at UCSF is a forum open to all black men and women on campus, to openly express themselves regarding matters of race as they affect life on campus and the community. The Caucus serves as an instrument for the formation of a Black consensus on those racial matters that affect every person on campus. This consensus will then be presented to the Administration for appropriate action. The members of the Black Caucus are UCSF faculty, staff, and students.
Black Student Health Alliance (BSHA)
The Black Student Health Alliance (BSHA) at UCSF is a student group created to promote community and communication between black students at UCSF, friends, faculty, community members, and supporters. BSHA is also the umbrella organization for the Student National Dental Association (SNDA), Student National Medical Association (SNMA), and Student National Pharmacy Association (SNPhA), and collaborates with Minority Graduate Student Organization (MGSO).
Chinese Health Professional Student Association
The purpose of CHPSA is to unite students in the healthcare profession that are of Chinese heritage and to educate the general UCSF community about Chinese culture and practices that may be relevant to the healthcare field by holding events such as Chinese New Year Celebration and Medical Mandarin/Cantonese Elective Courses.
Iranian Cultural Organization
The Iranian Cultural Organization is a non-political student-led organization at UCSF, dedicated to building a community of UCSF students, staff, and faculty around the practice of Persian cultural traditions.
Japanese American Health Professional Student Association
The Japanese American Health Professional Student Association works to serve the Japanese-American community with respect to healthcare, educate the public about various health topics, advocate the change and improvement of healthcare in general, and provide cultural education and social activities to students, faculty, and administration at UCSF.
Japanese San Francisco Bay Area Seminar
We organize a scientific seminar series for UCSF Japanese scientists and students.
Jewish Students Association at UCSF
JSA sponsors social and cultural events around Jewish holidays. All are welcome.
Korean American Health Professional Student Assn (KAHPSA)
KAHPSA is an organization which promotes fellowship among Korean American students in all medical disciplines, and gathers celebration of our common heritage. We strive to bring awareness of health related issues and through service to the community, hope to aid in the improvement of the health of all.
Korean Life Scientists in the Bay Area (KOLIS)
KOLIS is the organization of Korean students, postdoctoral scholars, and faculty who study life sciences in the Bay Area. The main purpose of our organization is to share scientific findings and also to provide positive networking among Korean life scientists.
Latin American Campus Association
This organization serves as an organized voice of the Latino community of UCSF and as a cohesive medium to organize and operate as a unit, to ensure affirmative action and equal opportunities & objectives are implemented for the Latino employees on campus. The organization also collaborates with Latino students and faculty to promote programs of interest to the Latin campus community.
Pilipinos of UCSF Student Organization
A group dedicated to fostering professional and social relationships among the Pilipino/Filipino students, faculty, and staff. In turn, PUSO’s members are dedicated to cultivating Pilipino/Filipino cultural awareness within the surrounding UCSF community.
United Filipino Employees Association (UFEA)
Our purpose is to provide a standing mechanism to deal with issues that arise out of conflict and to promote the general welfare of Filipinos at UCSF by organizing forums and other special events and by fostering cross cultural exchange activities. We serve as the voice of the Filipino Community in social events, UCSF multi-cultural functions, and diversity functions.
Vietnamese Student Association
Vietnamese Student Association seeks to inform UCSF students and staff about cultural aspects of this underserved community through various programs throughout the year. Two of our major events include the Autumn Banquet and the Cultural Show, which introduce Vietnamese cuisine, music, and art. Other events that raise awareness of Vietnamese culture and history include Black April, the Tet Festival, and the Vietnamese medical language elective.
