All international students and scholars in the U.S. are required by the law (INA 262 and 261) to check in and be registered with USCIS after arrival, and inform USCIS of their changes of address within 10 days after moving.
Currently registered F-1 and J-1 students, and scholars must notify ISSO as soon as you change your address so that ISSO can update USCIS through the SEVIS within 10 days.
Please submit your change of address to ISSO by completing the Address Update Form.
All UCSF students on F-1 OPT are required to report to ISSO within 10 days of any change in your
- residential address
- name and address of your employer
- employment status, including when you stop using OPT at anytime during the authorized period, e.g. change to H-1B, leave the U.S. etc.
Scholars who are not in F-1 or J-1 status may inform USCIS by creating/updating their USCIS Account or filling a paper AR-11 Form. For more information about changing your address with the USCIS, please see their webpage on the matter.
