UCSF Internal Application Deadline: Sept 6, 2022 by 12 p.m. PST
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs. To be eligible as a UCSF graduate student, you must not have been awarded a doctorate degree at the time the Fulbright application is submitted. To be eligible as a UCSF medical student, you can only apply the Fall of your third year of school. Please note that for the 2023-2024 academic year, Fulbright-Fogarty Fellowship placements will be available in Vietnam, Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Nepal, Uganda, Jamaica and Peru.
Steps
- Review each of the UCSF and Fulbright resources below
- Identify the country and type of award you would like to apply for. If you have application questions, reach out to [email protected], CAIPS International Programs Director + Fulbright Program Adviser
- Apply for Award through Fulbright's application portal by September 6, 2022 by 12 p.m. PST
- In mid-September, you will be invited by UCSF's Fulbright Program Adviser to informally meet with a UCSF Fulbright Faculty Review Committee. The Committee will review your application and provide feedback to you. You will then have until Oct 11 by 5 p.m. EST to resubmit your application a second time through Fulbright's application portal.
- Candidates will learn if they were selected for a Fulbright Award by mid-April the following year

- UCSF 2022-2023 Fulbright Student Award Repository, which focuses on awards in the biomedical sciences, science technology and medicine. Independently check on Fulbright's website to see if awards listed in Repository are still valid for the 2023-2024 year.
- UCSF's internal Fulbright deadline is Tuesday, September 6, 2022 by 12 p.m. PST. Applicants will submit applications through the Fulbright's Okta portal. All application components should be submitted by the September 6 deadline.
